-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Maintaining a Drive Letter (So it does not change everytime you start your computer). Who knows HOW to do this???????????????

Rose,
I don't think it would then order them alphabetically, but I'm sure
you'll test it out and let me know for sure. As for your C drive, I prefer
to name mine according to the operating system it's housing. It allows me
to quickly tell where my various multiboot OSs are when I need them. For
non-NTFS volumes, you're limited to 11 characters. So, for a volume acting
as home to Vista, I'd probably call it something like VISTA. Over my
present multiboot computers (and even individual OS contraptions), I've used
WIN311, WIN95, WIN96, WIN97, WIN98, WIN98SE, WINNT_4, WIN2K_PRO, WINXP_HOME
and WINXP_PRO. I've also had systems where the same OS was installed more
than once so I could use one for experimenting with trialware, shareware,
freeware, etc.. In those cases, I'd call the second instance something like
XP_SANDBOX.

Peace,
GMan
