Not so Andy.........break out of the box! Most all use other words or
phrases in the e-mailk that are consistent. How about "low cost
prescription" or "don't need a prescription", etc?? Use other phrases
and catch SPAM by creating "category filters".
Frankly, the best way to stop SPAM is to get rid of the notion that
you should keep an E-Mail addy forever. Get several E-Mail addresses
from your ISP. Use one for personal e-mail and never, never use it
for registration, subscribing to lists, purchases, etc. Use another
for all lists. Use still another for purchases, or better yet, use
one of the temporary e-mail addresses for purchases and set it for
eight days.

If over time you begin to get SPAM on an account...........more than
you want to deal with using filters, just delete the account and get a
new one. It takes far, far less time to resubscribe to lists, etc.,
with a new E-Mail addy than it does to play with SPAM programs and
risk lost good mail.

   | | opinions in forums is that even this message is most likely
   | | ignored by the spammers. They have their list they send to -
   | | it's all set, computer
   | |
   | generated.
   | | They aren't likely going to look at e-mails that are
   | | returned to them and
   | |
   | take
   | | the time to remove people from their cd's and main address
   | | databases -
   | |
   | and, if
   | | they are set to acknowledge a response from the spam, this
   | | triggers a
   | |
   | positive
   | | 'hit' rather than a bounced message.
   | |
   | |
   | | so - this is just food for thought - and you may or may not
   | | reduce the
   | |
   | spam you
   | | receive from bouncing. when I started to use mail washer
   | | years ago, I
   | |
   | believe
   | | that it cut my spam down. Now, my spam is growing and I get
   | | the same spam
   | |
   | to the
   | | same address over and over (sent from different forged
   | | addresses) - And
   | |
   | the
   | | spammers are using more sophisticated methods of generating
   | | their spam -
   | |
   | and
   | | harvesting addresses.
   |
   |
   | You are never going to stop the real spammers sending their crap
   | to you, bouncing or not, but you WILL cut out some that are set
   | up to delete an address on a bounce..
   |
   | Using mailwasher certainly beats trying to set up message
   | rules...I've got VIAGRA, Viagra and viagra blocked..but now of
   | course thy are sending out v'iagra or vi'agra or via'gra
   | or..(you get the picture, right??)..It's got to the stage where
   | it's virtually impossible to create rules that block it out.
