Do you mean an update for MS Works?  I never have seen one, maybe that's my 
problem?  By the install thing, do you mean set-up launcher.exe? That gives 
options of "add to" or "replace" what you already have and I didn't know what 
to choose.

  Have you gone to do an update etc and stopped it halfway through it. The
  same thing happened with me with Office one day. If the install thing is for
  MS Works, I would be inlcinded to try and let it run its course.
