Thanks Faustus,

I will try the "Create a New User" first as the machine is only a year old,
built especially for me by my son. Not that it couldn't still be hardware
related. I am a lucky 71 year old. My son provides my computer but lives in
Indianapolis, IN, My wife has a Dell but has always had to learn to keep her
machines running herself as she is VERY frugal. If she has a book or manual
she will figure how to fix it, HaHa

Thanks for your suggestions,
Rocky de Dragon

Hmm...short of updating your gfx card/monitor drivers, I can't think
of anything else that would apply.

One last quick thing you could try before you reformat is to create a
new user, fill their desktop up with icons, and see if the same thing
happens, then at least you'll know if it's system-wide or user-
specific.
