I ran into the VBscript problem on a friend's machine. I'd get a
prompt to install, but then it gave me an error message, and would
tell me to go to Windows Update and that's where I was! I solved
it by downloading IE 6 again and doing a custom install, checking
only VBscript and one other thing that it said was required to install
anything. Didn't take too long and it fixed the problem.

Sorry for the last post.
I keep getting lock ups on IE6 SP1 with the latest
patch. No it didn't fix the problem.
I am on Win2000 with SP3.
I have to shutdown ZoneAlarm to be able to close IE.
This mainly happens on Yahoo, in fact I don't remember
if it happened anywhere else.
I went to PCPitStop ran Check ActiveX.
They Indicate that VBscript isn't working.
Is there a way to activate it? I tried their
recommendation. No luck.
If that doesn't work.
What is a good way to completely remove IE6, then
reinstalling?
Next step.....reformat, clean Install.....
