Judith,
My gut is telling me to still blame the graphics drivers. Do you still
have the link to the page where you found the new ones you just installed?
A version of 2.1.2 for a graphics driver isn't sitting well with me since I
know that the newer cards are using version numbers that are well into the
hundreds (i.e. something like v.184.2).
