Cristy,
If you'll recall back when we were working on achieving dual channel
mode for your system, you ended up with the two new 1GB sticks plus the
older two 256MB sticks, for a total of 2.5GB of dual channel memory. I'm
now wondering if the two smaller sticks are causing this video editing
bottleneck you're experiencing.
When you get a chance, see if you can wrestle that cover off one more
time to remove the two small sticks (they're the ones currently in slots 2 &
4). then run your editing program. If it seems that it's running better
without the extra 512MB of RAM, leave those sticks out and just run the two
new ones permanently (or until you replace the system, which you said
probably wouldn't be too long).
Peace,
Gman
