Hello all,
     Thanks to all for your suggestions and recommendations during my
research for a new machine. A year ago, I pretty much figured out what I
wanted the
new machine to do, and came up with a budget.
     Current machine is running fine, but I'm running out of hard drive
space. Backing up data to CD's to create space is becoming laborious.
Additionally,
I want to make back up copies of beta and VHS tapes, as well as LP's.
     So I went into CompUSA with my latest list of questions, figuring the
salesman probably wouldn't be knowledgeable enough to really answer my
questions. Funny thing, nevermind that I seem to remember that their
salespersons were
always knowledgeable.
     Anyway, not thinking I was ready to actually buy, but to continue to
procrastinate. Salesman answered all my questions with no to little
hesitation -
with none of the eyeballs shifting back and forth stuff (fibbing). When I
came
back from using the restroom, he had most items that we had discussed in a
cart ready for me.
     I will most likely give away or donate the old machine, once the new
one
is up, running and tested. I will want to wipe the old drive, reinstall ME
and XP home upgrade. Will ask questions then.
     The biggest concern I have for now is learning windows media center XP.
I tend to resist HAVING to learn new software if I can. I hope some of you
guys will be able to help me along in taking my baby steps.
