good morning Patti

you didn't mention which operating system you are
using.

For most operating systems you can go to a windows
explorer window (or my computer) and select
tools->options (it might be labeled folder options)
And look for the item "show all files"   or Do not
hide known file types (or something similar to that).
 Select the appropriate item and choose Apply or OK
and you should be all set
