-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Help with Outlook Express please

HI Christy
I am not sure I clearly understand how you have your accounts set up. I have
4 email accounts, as follows: ISP (Primary), Secondary (Softhome.net, this
is the one I am using to answer you), School (Novell) and blackboard at
school. I use OE for my email.

Let me first discuss the OE area.
I have OE set up to check two of the four accounts when I come on line and
when I click the send receive button. They are the ISP account and the
secondary account. I do not use OE to check or send email for the school
(Novell) account or black board. In my OE I have 5 different addressbooks.
Main, Shared, School (follow students I have not put in main or shared),
teachers and computer clubs. When I send email, I call up the addressbook or
books and select the people I want to email too. After that I go up to the
from dialog box and click on the down arrow located at the right hand edge
of the dialog box. I then select the account that I want to show in the
message as where I sent it from. If you check this message, you will see
that it shows the secondary account in the from.

Blackboard and School (Novel) accounts.
When I want to access either of these accounts, I go to my School (Purdue)
web site and there are links to take me to either one of these. When I go to
either one of these, I must first login in. That is the way the school has
it set up and can not get around it. Therefore, If I had OE to check these
accounts for mail, I would have to log on each time. PAIN. I am not sure
that when I would log on, that the OE would continue to check the accounts
automatically. Therefore I suspect I would have to do it manually anyway. I
do not use either of these two accounts on a regular bases for email.

The school (Novell) account I keep for student, teachers, departments
contacts and certain others that I may need to email from school when I am
not at home. My primary use for students, teachers and departments is my
secondary account.

Blackboard, I primarily use to upload and download assignments, labs, etc to
the teach. It does have email capabilities, but I THINK, the teacher has to
enter in the other students email. In any event, I have used it only once to
email a student. I have used it several times to email the teacher and
submit my assignments which had to be uploaded to blaackboard. I just go to
the school web site, connect on the blackboard link ( I have shortcut icon
on my desk top), login in and go to the send email to instructors.

I hope this is of some help to you and if you feel that further discussion
would be beneficial, feel free to email me off line. (secondary account)

Bob
