-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Hello...

Welcome aboard, Rita.

What exactly looks different? When you reinstalled, was it the same =
exact version as the previous? Different versions may look differently.

Could the differences from the reinstall be customizations that you did =
on the initial install? If so, you would unfortunately have to =
recustomize those features.

On the other hand, when you reinstalled, you may have not completely =
uninstalled the prior version. So, while the program might be =
uninstalled, the settings may not. Uninstall Netscape, and make sure =
that the installation folders are gone for Netscape. Check the =
C;\program files directory. I'm not sure where Netscape saves all the =
settings, but check somewhere in c:\documents and settings\**username** =
and see if there's any mention of Netscape there. If so, delete it. And, =
finally, you have the registry. If settings are saved in the registry, =
you may have to go in and delete those entries manually, as the =
uninstall app may have not done so correctly.

Subject: -=3DPCTechTalk=3D- Hello...

Hi Folks,

New member here... I'm always trying to learn more about my PC, and=20
trying to make sure I keep it clean. I ran a program the other night,=20
called CCleaner. It got rid of some files that I didn't need, but it=20
also stripped my Netscape home page. I can open Netscape, but it looks=20
different than it did before. I tried reinstalling Netscape 7.2, but=20
that didn't seem to help. I also tried to do a system restore, and that =

didn't do anything. I would appreciate any help you can give me... =
Thanks.
Rita
