Tim,
    Go to Start > Run and type in the following and then press Enter.

compmgmt.msc

    When the window opens, click on Disk Management in the left pane and 
Maximize the window.  What you see there is a representation of all of the 
drives in your system.  It will also show you all of the partitions 
contained in each of the drives.  Look carefully at the one representing 
your hard drive and see if you see any problems &/or if it can provide any 
additional info regarding your partition setup.
