Merry Christmas everyone!! The kids and grandkids have come and gone and I
am again trying to install this infernal card program. G, I did go back to
all of those places you suggested and deleted temp files. Still got the
Error 1335 both from the disk and from the one I copies to C Drive. I
rebooted and tried. Still get the error. I emptied all temp files again
and tried again. It installed and asked for the second disk. Second disk
threw the same error. I have tried repeatedly and cannot get the first disk
to finish installing more than that one time.
I looked in Windows Explorer and did not find a cab file in the temp files
but I found in C, Documents and Settings, user name, local settings, temp
the error logged in Notepad (Error 1335 twice and then Error 2350. FDI
server error several times)
I emptied the recycle bin and tried again. No go.
Nova tech says since it happened with both version 5 and version 7 I may
need to clean the drive using a product called a drive head cleaner,
available in most electronics or office supply stores.
What is your opinion concerning the Nova tech suggestion? Keep in mind
though that I can install version one with no problem.
Also do you recall that I found the cab file when I copied the first
installer disk to my C Drive? When I tried to unzip it, I got the message
that the cab file was corrupt.
Another thought--Would the Old C Drive be able to cause problems of this
nature? I have not dealt with that issue yet and have a folder on my C
Drive labeled old C Drive and put there when my local tech last worked on my
machine.
I have an external hard drive that I could put the old C Drive on to test
that theory but I would need a bit of guidance on making that transfer. So
far I have not put anything over on the new hard drive but it is showing in
My Computer and available.
I was encouraged by getting the first disk to complete and request the 2nd
disk that one time and I hope that tells you something about my problem.
Sandi
