-=PCTechTalk=- Re: GMan -----Question about creating a Acronis image

Roger,
This is nothing more than an opportunity to learn more than we knew
before. My impression was incorrect as to how the program handles multiple
partitions. I fully expected the app to be able to handle one partition at
a time. In other words, only the first partition of your new drive would
have needed to be empty. Its contents could have easily been Moved over to
the new drive's second partition to facilitate that.

However, since it wants to do everything at once, do you have enough
room on your original drive's various partitions to store everything that's
on the newer drive's volumes (remembering that you only need to preserve
those things that are not already duplicated on the original drive)? I just
had a glance at the images you sent regarding WinDirStat and I believe the
answer is "No", but I have no idea what types of files are on the newer
drive's partitions. Perhaps it would be best all around to consider burning
some of those items to get them off of the newer drive. I do understand
that the other thread's issue may impact the immediate availability of the
software needed for this, so that may force a hold on the rest of this until
we solve that. I am heading over to your second post right now to see what
we can do about that.

Oh, and there's no need for any apologies from you, kind Sir. My
attempt at cleaning up the mess was not specific to that post, but to any
posts based on it in the future. Seems like it cleaned up rather well.
:O)

Peace,
G
