You know that the word "virus" shots my BP to the roof.

April 1st
Evelyn,
The info included in this is legit, but don't become a victim of fake
YouTube recommendations. I know of several infections that spread by
sending a person to YouTube in order to check out a video and then the video
causes a warning that the person doesn't have the correct codec installed in
order to view it. The warning box includes a link to get the missing codec,
but it's actually a link to the infection itself.
My advice is to not be afraid of YouTube videos, but NEVER click on a
codec link telling you that you can't watch it until you get a codec. ALL
YouTube videos are designed to use Flash and the default codecs included
with every installation of Windows. In other words, you will never need a
non-standard codec in order to see them. Don't fall for fake missing codec
warnings.
Peace,
Gman
