-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Foxit question

I have both QuickTime Alternative and Real Alternative installed instead of
the actual players, but I don't get a whole lot of use out of either one
because I don't come across files that require them too often.

RealPlayer was the original name for the multimedia player produced by
RealNetworks. They eventually (in 2001) released a version called RealOne,
but I have to assume it didn't do all that well cause, until just now, I
haven't heard it mentioned since sometime around 2003. As far as I know,
AOL has nothing to do with RealNetworks. It's possible that they may have
some cross licensing going on between them to allow AOL users to play Real
formats through AOL's proprietary browser or something like that, but I'm
only guessing at a connection. Someone else more interested in the Real
formats may be able to shed some additional light on that question.

Peace,
Gman
