-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Formatting External HDD

i'm not sure what's on it............at one time there was about 75 gigs,
then it just stopped working and while still attached to my Me machine I
attempted a format by just right clicking on the drive and choosing "format"
and it seemed like it wiped every off, so i proceeded to put on a few things
to test it out and if i had to guess, it's got maybe 500 mb on it, not much
at all......at least i think that's what it said. I had put maybe 3 folders
of music and a couple of .psp (tubes) on there was all.

ok, the little Checking Disk WD External window has the "start" and "cancel"
grayed out, but i'll move it to the side and see if I can click cancel on
the tools tab window. I've never had any problem accessing it, just somehow
all the orig 75 gigs got all scrambled (it was formats I was not familiar
with) like 18 mths ago.........and then it wouldn't let me put anything on
it or delete it.........so with it attached to my Me machine I just decided
that the format would let me start all over on it.

even now attached to this XP machine I was able to see what's on it, and it
did let me delete the tubes that were there...........I didn't try deleting
any music, just got busy trying to reformat AGAIN, lol.
