-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Forgot my administer password....HELP! If that's possible :o(

Annie,
You will NEVER convince me that you have a small mind or are some kind
of 'nutcase'. It's only that you haven't yet gained the experience needed
to know how to deal with what you are now dealing with. However, you'll own
this experience once you get past it. Put together enough of these and
you'll be that much closer to being an expert. No one knows everything and
that's why a group like this works so well. We share our experience with
each other, making the whole so much greater (and more experienced) than the
sum of its parts. :)

The easiest way to gain access to a Windows based machine is to go into
Safe mode. To get into Safe mode, do the following steps:

While the computer is powering up, before the Windows logo screen, keep
pressing F8 and you will be presented with some choices on how you want to
boot. Choose Safe Mode.

Once it starts up, go to Start > Run and type: control userpasswords2. This
will bring up a User Accounts screen.

Select the user account you want access to and press the “Reset Password”
button.

If you can't get into Safe Mode, there are other methods, but they
require the use of a bootable CD. I can get you the instructions for
creating one, but you will need access to a working system in order to
proceed.

Peace,
Gman
