Hi Sandi,
    If you're not used to working within Explorer, I know it can seem a bit 
overwhelming at first.  Just take your time and it'll become second nature 
faster than you expect.

    There IS a control to hide system files (it's among those I said you 
should change), but that option also leaves the possibility of deleting a 
seemingly empty folder that really has a hidden system file within it.  In 
other words, if it's hidden, you won't see it and the folder will appear 
empty.  If you choose to hide system files, you will need to check the 
properties of any empty folders before you delete them, just to make sure 
they're really empty.
