Sandi,
    Rather than disable anything, uninstall Java and then check to see if 
ALL of the Java plugin entries are gone.  If any remain, it means that your 
system has somehow retained at least one old file from a previous install 
and we'll need to hunt that down and remove it before reinstalling Java 
properly.
