Can't you find out using Belarc program the SN of your Hard
Drive?
Or Did you register your computer with the company you bought it
from -- maybe they would know the serial number.
I know Gateway has all my information -- all I have to give them
is the SN on the outside of my computer and they know what
Motherboard, hard drive, RAM, etc. I need.

I bought the computer 3 years ago, and did not get an extended
warranty.
And as for getting the serial number, I'm sure I would never be
able to read
it, even if I were able to open the computer, and know what a
drive
looks like,
so I get the info!
I really need an in-city guru!
