It never had firewire at all before?  Sorry, I musta been tired when I read
that.  If it never had it before, there should be no old driver.  Some
ethernet and firewire ports are integrated into the motherboard.  If it had
firewire before but no card, then you need to disable the onboard firewire
port in BIOS first.  If that wasn't the problem, I'm sorry, I misread the
