-=PCTechTalk=- Re: FireWire trouble continues

Did you check to make sure that the old driver was totally gone?

On 5/13/2003 at 2:18 PM a whisper was heard, and the one known as Glenn
Folkvord (Hyperion Media) was rumoured to have uttered....

          | Hey,
          |
          | I have now bought a new Firewire card, since the other one
          | possibly could be
          | too old for my Home XP computer. Now I have the Tekram
          | TR-1394W PCI card.
          | But, that didnt solve much, as the situation is still:
          |
          | * When physically installing the card, the computer recognise
          | new hardware
          | * There's a yellow explamation mark in the Decive Manager for
          | the FW card
          | * Installation guide says drivers are supposed to be on the
          | WinXP CD, but it
          | cant be found by the driver installation wizard
          | * It connects to the internet to try and download something,
          | to no avail
          | * I cant find any FW drivers from the manufacturer's website
          | * Windows Update do not find that I am missing a FW driver
          |
          | Are there any standard 1394 drivers I can install to override
          | current
          | drivers, which do not work? If so, where can I find them?
          |
          | Thanks,
          | Glenn
