Couldn't the fan on the CPU also be failing or intermitting? That happened
on a P4 system that I had.

It may be difficult for you to truly determine the inside temperatures
unless you have some very nice specialized equipment, or have software to
read sensors in the computer.
The first thing I'd do is clean the insides of the computer..make sure the
fans, themselves, are clean of dust bunnies. You keep it off the floor,
right? If the computer is getting some age on it, you may have a component
that is beginning to age and runs hotter than usual..........not just the
chip or hard drive(s), but it could even be the video card or memory.

Hi everyone
I have noticed that my fan on my computer has been running a lot more often
than it used to. Other than overheating what else would cause this?
My computer does not seem to be any warmer than usual.
