    The reason I now have DSL is that my neighbor across the street had just

gotten it.  Prior to hearing that, I had been repeatedly the same line about

it not being available.  So when I heard she was connected, I called them 
and asked about my own upgrade (I've been one of their dial-up customers for

over a year).  Well, they told me it still wasn't available.  I then asked 
how the folks across the street have it, but I can't get it.  They looked up

her address and said that she shouldn't be able to get it either.  I told 
her to look into this a little deeper.  The cust rep called me back and 
asked if I wanted them to come out Wednesday or Thursday to deliver the DSL 
modem.  It turns out that the neighborhood has had "availability" for just 
over a month, but it was never updated in the main system in whatever state 
the main branch is located.

    My suggestion is to locate the nearest branch office and call there 
instead.  If anyone can give you an idea if they're working on it, thinking 
about it or have already done it, it's them since they'll be the ones 
actually doing the work.       :O)
