-=PCTechTalk=- Re: External Hard Drive

I have had programs installed on my external drive. I usually only
installed things I would not use very often...and.... where I also stored
the data on that drive.

I do not have my external drives on ALL THE TIME.

I have played games on the external drive...but..depending upon your
computer... including the speed of the computer and the amount of ram
available, the game could be slow or choppy.
But, the easiest way to find out..is to install the program on the external
drive... and then play the game.

I would suggest you run a program like cleanup and re-booting before
starting the play the game. Then, with no other programs open...(like email
or word docs, etc) the computer would be at its optimum and give you the
greatest opportunity for success.

I even re-boot often before playing a game on my internal hard drive.
Hope this helps
Have fun...

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- External Hard Drive

I have bought myself a Maxtor 250 G external Drive.
I just plugged in the power point and the USB and off I went transferring
stuff off both my laptop and the desktop.
It seems to be doing the job.
(I watched a MP4 movie straight off the drive) Meet the Spartans :-)

The only thing I'm not sure of is can I install and play my games from this
drive? I did a goggle and there were various opinions, some said yes you can
and some say no!

I remember reading in a Big Fish Forum that one member played from her
external drive so I'm going to do a search in the forum to see what was said
there.
In the meanwhile does anyone here know?
