Not rerouted to the outbox, they just don't leave the outbox.  It may have 
been the size of the folder rather than the quantity of messages that caused 
the problem, but on two occasions I've had messages refuse to leave my 
outbox after being sent and emptying my Sent Items folder over to another 
folder fixed the problem.

I have created a mailbox at gmail for the specific and only purpose of 
archiving PCTT messages.  I did that a few months ago when I re-discovered 
how difficult it was to use the archives at freelists.  I don't have to keep 
a huge dbx file in OE or suffer the slow searches using Find in a huge 
folder.
