Yes. Go into safe mode and then, in the Accessories/System Tools click
defrag. When you start it, it will do a check first and then tell you the
percentage of fragmentation before you actually defrag it. Remember,
though, that it is all relative. 5% of 100 Mb is a lot, but 1% of an
eighty gig hard drive is quite a lot of file fragments as well. I've
always felt that 5% or less isn't that bad for a smaller drive and that 3 %
is borderline on disks bigger than 20 Gb.
