The reason I have not responded sooner is that just after I
received this message I was working on the computer and
it froze. After I rebooted, I could not get past the error message
that I had previously posted:
--------------
While initializing device IOS:
Windows protection error. You need to restart your computer.
--------------
Skipping over (saying no to loading certain files as I had also
itemized in an earlier post) did no good at all. I was without
a working computer and without an email connection to repond
to your post.
I was in the process of trying to set up another PC so I could use
it - at least to send/receive email - when I started thinking more
seriously about the fact that installing the new version of AVG
was what I had done somewhat previously to having my problem.
So I removed AVG and that solved my problem. Everything is
back to normal now (except I am no longer running AVG 7.5)
I do rememeber reading that the old version 7.1.5? should be
removed before installiing 7.5 but I chose to ignore that advice
assuming that worst case would be a problem with AVG. I plan
to download AVG 7.5 again (even that got deleted somehow)
and try it again. Time will tell.
Thanks for your help, Gman.
