-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Dell Reinstall CD WAS: Wobbly Fonts - Outlook Express Problem

Gman and David,

On my Dell computer (4.5 year old Dimension 8300) F2
is the key to enter BIOS setup. During Restart when the Dell logo appears
look in the top right corner of the screen. It will tell you F2 for setup
and F12 for boot menu.

While playing around in setup all changes are kept until I hit ESC
repeatedly and a dialog box opens with a menu to Keep changes and Exit,
Discard Changes and Exit, Return to Setup. This means that as I browse
around in setup making changing and learning how the various keys to select
and navigate work, I will see changes made if I return to the same menu
option... even after using ESC to leave that menu option.

Disclaimer: While the key to enter setup may be different on a different
computer, Setup has worked as described on every computer I have ever owned
(starting with a 10MHz x86) though the wording of the exit menu may be
slightly different.

Don

Even if you selected something other than what was
already selected, ESC will prevent that change from being recorded.
