I think you just got a lesson in you get what you pay for....the free virus
program.  They do work, but are not like the paid ones. Norton's antivirus
is cheaper by it's self...and you can find it on sale.  It would be better
to have Norton's Systems Works....but the antivirus  alone is the cheaper
way to go and still be protected well.
