-=PCTechTalk=- Re: DVD/RW door problem

Hi LilAnnie,
I have a similar issue with a DVD drive here and my problem stems from
the tray not closing completely. Whenever it closes, I have to manually
push it the rest of the way in or it will soon reopen on me. That indicates
a problem with the tray transport and there's no user fix that can be done
for it. Since mine is out of warrantee, I just deal with it and will
eventually replace the unit when it no longer functions as a reliable
burner.

For you, however, the warantee is still going strong. I would contact
Gateway and tell them you need the faulty optical drive replaced.

Peace,
Gman
