-=PCTechTalk=- Re: DVD Recorder.

I gave a location to obtain much cheaper DVD-RAM discs earlier on.
<www.netsoftmedia.com>. I have had no problem at all with Optodisc
brand. (I have no interest here) I have both R/RW and record once only.

Does anyone positively know that DVD-RAM will be obsolete? To the best
of my knowledge it will be the survival of the fittest and, hopefully,
the best. Some DVD writers can be switched from -RAM to +RAM.

The hard disk DVD writer works similarly to the HDD in your computer -
currently AFAIK 40gig is as large as they get, but I see no reason why
they should not get larger in the not too distant future.

But, like computers, if you wait for the latest to come on to the
market, you will never get one!

A single sided DVD-RAM disk will record 6 hours video. As I said
earlier, in fast action the quality deteriorates a bit.
Double sided 12 hours, but it has to be turned over half way through of
course.
