soe options:

-if you use norton protected trash you could possibly restore a previous 
version from the trash bin. even with out norton you might find a 
deleted copy there.

-restore from backup.

-without a backup you would probably need to use a disk editor and 
manually search the drive, sector by sector looking for 'traces' of the 
file and piece it together as much as possible, very time consuming 
process. This also assumes the sectors the file previously occupied 
havn't been reused in which case it's gone.
