That's hard to say... I haven't heard anything about recent updates. What I would personally do would be to run the updates again and if there are any problems, then do the restore point again, then run the updates one at a time to see which one causes the problem. The reason I would run all the updates again is because its time consuming to run one at a time and it was probably just a freak accident. Maybe your PC needed a reboot before it installed the updates. My PC tends to get a little flaky every 2-3 days and I won't install anything without a reboot first. -----Original Message----- From: pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:pctechtalk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Jan Robey Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 7:13 PM To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Computer suddenly cannot open any links. Disastar, Thank you. Your suggestion to boot in safe mode & restore worked! Windows Update notice was the first thing to show up. Am I correct that maybe this update WAS what caused my link problem originally? If so, can you make suggestions as to which of the updates should go in? Thanks again! Actually, most times system restore doesn't work, you just boot up in safe mode (hit F8 at beginning of boot) and run system restore from there. It almost always works from safe mode. --------------------------------------------------------------- Please remember to trim your replies (including this sentence and everything below it) and adjust the subject line as necessary.
