HB,
Then I have to suggest that it's not the direct fault of those two
drivers. My next thought would be to start doing the same for other devices
in Device Manager (one at a time with a reboot after each) until the issue
disappears. Most likely, there's another device driver that's interfering
with the keyboard and mouse support files.
Along those lines, there is also a chance that perhaps one of the
support files used by all of them (mouse, keyboard & 'other') has been
replaced with an older version of the same file (probably by the 'other'
device) and your system is suffering from a case of indigestion as a result.
If this is the case, the method of forcing Windows to reload fresh copies of
the files won't help and you'll need to actually start updating various
drivers until it stops. Until you finish out the "forced replacement"
method on your main drivers, I'll hold off on walking you through those
steps, which are a bit more detailed.
Peace,
GMan
