-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Call Wave

Sandi

Thanks for the info.

I used to have CallWave when it was free and I loved it. My
daughter always used to comment about the sexy voice that
answered the phone and gave the information for using
CallWave to the caller.

Then they said it would no longer be free except for the old
and whatever (I qualify :^) So a while later they said it would
no longer be free even if I was old so I dropped it rather than
paying the $3-4 per month. I am on the internet late at night
so I would rarely get any calls.

So, instead I signed up for a service called eVoice, which is
free if you don't take all the bells and whistles. I am assigned
a number (not local for the free version) which sends an email
of the message to me when the caller leaves a message. I
basically forgot about it and have not had it loaded on my PC
for a long time. This discussion jarred my feeable memory and
so I did check just now and my account is still active.

I loved CallWave but I am too cheap to pay for it and the thing
I don't like about eVoice is that callers have to know (and remember)
my eVoice number. Even my kids don't remember it. Other
correspondents of mine don't even know I have such a service
and wouldn't know my number if they did.

What I should do, but usually forget to do, is to turn on my cell
phone when I am going to tie up THE phone line so people will
have that opportunity to contact me if desired.

If you want info on eVoice, you can contact me or you can always
google for it.
