Two questions...
Are you able to drag files onto the drive, so that it would show the files as
waiting to be copied to CD? If so, then right-click on those files after the
drag-drop and see if it gives the option of WRITE TO CD.
Second... is there anything running on the bottom right that might be for the
drive? Burning software running in the background?
