If you go for a new drive, skip the computer tech.  Go to your favorite 
Wal-Mart Super Center and purchase an HP External DVD Burner.  It burns ever 
kind of DVD including RAM, DL and LightScribe.  Simply install the software 
that comes with it and then plug it into an available USB port.

Yes.  It *is* that easy.

Cost is about $90-100.  About the same you will pay for an internal drive 
and installation by a tech.
