Sandi,
Do you have registration info? If so, then download the version that
matches what your registration info says its valid for. If not, then you
must have the free version. Is that the only anti-virus program you had
installed? Its not a good idea to have more than one anti-virus installed
at the same time as they can (and often do) create conflicts that can cause
a lot of problems. If that was the only anti-virus program installed then
it wasn't a good idea to uninstall it before downloading the new version.
I've read about people saying they got virus infections during the time
between uninstalling and reinstalling almost immediately afterwards.
The only free version I can find is at:

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Bit Defender
I have had Bit Defender in my Notification Area for quite a while. Recently
I was told it needed to be updated and when I tried I got an error. I
removed Bit Defender with the intent of downloading it again so I went to
the website. Their are any number of downloads available. I believe it was
originally put there because of the threat of Conflicker (Downadup?). I have
searched through my techtalk files and cannot find any reference to that
download. Can someone tell me which one I need in order to have the icon in
my NA again? Or should I just try to remember this app and what it does in
the event I need it in the future?
Sandi
