Thanks for your well-wishes.  I've been dealing with back problems for about
17 years now (25% PPD).

When you remove manufacturing jobs from the economy (e.g., exporting them to
China, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.), service jobs (e.g., computer and customer
service to India or the Philippines), the local economy is going to "tank."
I live in NC and this State has been devastated by the closing of the local
mills and plants (e.g., clothing, furniture and food processing) over the
past two decades just as Michigan was devastated by the exporting of auto
manufacturing jobs and Pennsylvania by the exportation of steel-working
jobs.  There are so many industries which depend upon (are supported by)
manufacturing jobs as well (e.g., medical, legal).  Meanwhile, low-skill,
low-paying jobs are being taken by what have been euphemistically called
"undocumented guest workers."  America's business interests have "stacked
the deck" against the American worker....

Larry:  Best wishes for a speedy recovery.  I can not imagine the pain you
must endure.
Gman:  Best wishes for a return to work.  It is sad to see our auto industry
in such a sorry state.  Same goes for all of our industries.  We own Mercury
and Buick vehicles but even those are probably more import than American
cars should be.
