-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Backup = Acronis True Image 11

Hi Roger,
we get gouged on hardware here in Canada too.

my first 80 gig USB1 external drive cost me over $500
3 years ago.

Prices are falling with the advent of solid state storage
"flash cards" are falling.

I picked up a Kingston 4GB DataTraveler for $25 +taxes today from NCIX.com

Mike!,

Many thanks for advice

1. Will try reburning Boot CD; however, CDR drive HAS had problems
before; I shall try to reinstall from my Rescue Disk, failing which may
have to repurchase CD/DVD/RW

2. Will check out tweaks, thanks

3. no Device Manager found in Add hardware, but in My computer>rt
click.Properties>Hardware>Device Manager. and NO yellow exclamation
marks thankfully

4. Have installed minimal Event Viewer on Desktop; now all I have to do
is REMEMBER to check and clear after each reboot

5. You are v.fortunate with Costco, because here in NZ my Seagate USB
250 GB external was $250 = USD310.
