Could be several things. Could be spyware, adware, auto-update, trojan on the
app, etc. I've never used the app, so I can't say for sure. But, I would deny
permission for it to go out when you're not using it. Heck, I would deny it
completely all the time, and if you have a problem with it running properly
then you can allow access again.
Try getting Ad-Aware for free at:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com
Install and run. It'll check your system for any spyware or adware, and remove
it. Pretty easy to use.

I downloaded this little "encyclopedia" and think it is brilliant. But... I
don't understand why it always wants to access the web, when I am not using
it? Zone Alarm warns me everytime. If I am not searching for anything it
shouldn't, should it? Unless it is upgrading itself, or something...
