I am a little slow getting around to this but I followed your advise and
uninstalled both QT and QT Alternative, rebooted and then installed the
latest version of QT Alternative.
I used Revo Uninstaller for the first time and had a few anxious moments as
it asked for permission to remove registry entries, etc. It also listed all
files and folders and asked permission. I did choose to leave all the Java
entries alone. I had read the instructions but I honestly was not at all
sure I was doing it right.
Are you familiar with Revo Uninstaller? I think I can go back and remove
the entries in Control Panel Add/Remove Programs too but I have not done
that yet. Quick Time is still listed in the Add/Remove and it seems it
should not be.
System Restore points were established all along the way by Revo so
hopefully I can undo any damage I might have caused.
Feeling insecure!!!
