Very many thank for your timely and accurately-reasoned warning. 

Without it I, ( as one who likes to think of himself, misguidedly, as an 
improving scholar)
would have been highly likely to rush off and jump into the great 
unknown of the dangerous XP3 wilds.

ps meanwhile thank you for your kind offer of a cat; unfortunately  
quarantine regulations will not permit.  However, perhaps you could send 
me  a Photo of the cat, which I can then hang on my wall at mouse-eye 
level to scare the meeces off ??
