-=PCTechTalk=- Re: All those files in msconfig???????

Don, I haven't been to that website but.........

I found a small program called Clean System-v1.7 that finds all dll's that
are not connected to programs.. leftovers I guess. Out of curiosity I ran it
and it found quite a few. It creates a backup folder in the system files, so
that you can restore them if required. I have another by PAL Solutions
called Registry Cleaner/Optimizer. This scans 11 sections..... of course if
you want the thing to fix the problems you have to buy it. It does however
point you in the right direction..........I think......... if you know what
you are doing............. and that lets me out. It is interesting to see
what goes on in the gizzards of a PC.

Has anybody had any experience with this website:
www.fileresearchcenter.com

It appears to scan your system and identify everything that is running on
your computer... processes, applications and dll files.

The scan and report appear accurate but if you run the scan it tries to get
you to download a version of their ad stopper software. You do NOT have to
download it to get the free scan.

My scan showed all safe so I don't think it is a scam to get you to download
some bogus software.

The site also has a place where you can type in a file or process name and
get it identified without scanning your system. That appears to work
accurately also.
