An ADMINISTRATOR account gives you more control than a LIMITED account. If
you're using an ADMINISTRATOR account, you should be able to do pretty much
anything on your system. At the least, if you can't do it with an ADMINISTRATOR
account, you most certainly will not be able to do it with a LIMITED account.
Are you sure you're using an ADMINISTRATOR account while trying to use SYSTEM
RESTORE?
Is it possible that what you toyed with is not the type of account, but rather
the privileges of that account type? In other words, Windows allows you to set
what an ADMINISTRATOR and/or LIMITED account can do. Did you maybe toy with
those?
