Alexa does ship with Microsoft products and can be removed without ill
effects.

On 11/27/2002 at 5:12 PM a whisper was heard, and the one known as
SandiBeach was rumoured to have uttered....

          | I just downloaded Adaware a few days ago and have
          | been reading the help
          | section and visited their forum but still have questions. I
          | know a lot of
          | you use Adaware so maybe you can help me. I got rid of
          | everything that said
          | Gator as I have not used Gator in a long time and thought I
          | had it
          | uninstalled from my system. The rest of the items I checked
          | ignore until I
          | could get a chance to study them. One is Alexa and my search
          | at Google
          | indicates this comes bundled with Win 98SE and OE6 so I am
          | thinking I should
          | leave that one alone. What do you all advise?
          | I know this is a bad time to start a new thread--the night
          | before
          | Thanksgiving--so I will not expect to hear from anyone for a
          | few days.
          | Actually I will be gone for a few days. Happy Thanksgiving
          | everyone!
          | Sandi
