-=PCTechTalk=- Re: Active X help

Ahh, yeah, if its been that long then I wouldn't suggest using System
Restore. You probably would be better off if you did run System Restore
when the registry originally got corrupted. I'm not harping, but hoping you
remember that for the future because System Restore saves future problems if
you run it right away after you start having problems.

I don't use Gmail, so I don't know what you mean by standard mode. It seems
many people are having that ActiveX problem with Gmail. The best fix I can
find is at:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=10973

It sounds like you enabled ActiveX, but maybe not the 2 scripting lines that
it describes. If that doesn't help, then I need to know what version of
Windows and what browser you are using. I'm assuming WinXP and IE6 or IE7
right now.

I agree with you... registry got really messed up! The Gmail thing with the

activeX started some time ago, so I am not keen on a restore if I can avoid
it. I don´t normally go to the Gmail website, only to clear one of the
accounts that is not POP3. But after a while that activeX thing bugged
me...

I cleaned the registry which I hope cleared a lot of things up but am
wondering if I should uninstall, download another activeX, or repair it?

The other problems I have with missing dlls I have found and dloaded all,
just have to register them. Thanks for the input... if you think of
something else, let me know!

Lil
