When you do a Complete Test, and it finds a virus, it will either auto-heal the file, and if that fails, you have an option of sending it to the virus vault or deleting it. Having AVG recognizing a virus during day to day computing is only a notification that it's there, and you need to run the Complete Test to correct it.
